LATEST NEWS
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are honoured to welcome you to the XIIth Edition of the International Workshop on Lung Health: Innovative Medicine, to be held in the beautiful Portuguese city of Lisbon.
Thanks to the wider respiratory network and most of all, the dedication of our experts and colleagues from various disciplines, respiratory medicine is fast entering a new era of breakthrough research and transformative milestones, in the fight against respiratory diseases.
The Workshop
We will open the workshop by looking at respiratory infections and bronchiectasis, with contributions from the Portuguese Respiratory Society (which is also organizing the National Society Session), giving us a comprehensive look at “Interstitial lung disease in autoimmunity”.
On Friday 17th January, we will explore the most recent updates in two of the most important topics within respiratory diseases – Asthma and COPD.
Saturday 18th will include a fascinating overview of the most important rare respiratory diseases and their updates, from Alpha1 anti-trypsin deficiency through to lung transplants – including late breaking science Oral presentations.
Our aim this year is to spotlight the latest cutting-edge research, and most innovative solutions, which are currently improving the management of pathologies, and more importantly, patient quality of life.
As always, the efforts and contribution of our early-career researchers and clinicians is critical to the energy and success of IWLH. The Rising Stars Session will open this year’s workshop, and then we have the FuHeL Programme – accompanying a group of early-career researchers and clinicians, over three days of mentoring.
Poster Sessions
Friday evening’s strolling Poster Sessions, aims to give up-and-coming researchers and clinicians, the chance to showcase a variety of original scientific papers, collaborate with peers, and receive invaluable feedback from senior faculty members.
The XIIth workshop is shaping up to be our best IWLH ever: thank you for your precious contribution and we hope you’ll enjoy the 2025 edition.
Yours Sincerely,
The IWLH Chairs- F. Blasi & G. W. Canonica
