The 2023 “Breaking New” IWLH Young Activity structured as a both “virtual & on site contest”, where up to 10 teams of researchers/clinicians will challenge each  other, facing several activities pre-event and during the Workshop days.

A final match, presented by the IWLH Presidents, taking place in the Congress Venue Arena during the January 20th lunch time, will elect the Winning Team

THE Contest Phases

Think about your team

  • composition (up to 4 members, from the same University/Hospital, under 42, 1 spokesman)
  • Nickname
  • Logo

July 20th – September 20th, 2022

Candidate Your Team filling the on line form that will be published in this section (a newsletter will be sent to announce the submission process opening)

September 20th – October 20th, 2022

The IWLH Jury will elect the best Nickname and Logo Team, assigning the first 10 scores

At the end of the process all the Team Pages (Profile, Nicknames, logos) will be published on the IWLH Web site

October 24th – December 10th, 2022


Every week a Clinical Case to be solved will be published on the Web.

Each team has to solve the case

The IWLH Jury will assign scores based on the results of the Clinical Cases Challenge

December 11th – January 4th, 2023

The Future perspective of respiratory Medicine Idea has to be structured in a 5 minutes video presentation by each team and uploaded on the web site

Each team has to present an innovative idea to face the future challenges of the worldwide respiratory medicine: the project could be an innovation in the clinical practice, a tool to be developed thanks to the cooperation of pharma companies or device/ lab companies, a “breaking new approach” to “emerging issues”, a new research path….

The IWLH Jury will score the THINK TANK Project

January 5th, 2023

A final RANKING will be published: the 3 best Teams will challenge during the ON SITE FINAL MATCH

A IWLH Committee Member will be assigned to each team as VIP Testimonial


January 19th – 21st, 2023

January 20th: FINAL MATCH presented by the IWLH Presidents


Final Prize

  • Support/consultation of a methodologist to develop the “team idea: future perspective of respiratory medicine”
  • Free attendance to 11th IWLH 2024
  • 2 months fellowship to an IWLH Excellence Center (reserved to 2 members of the team -details of covered and not covered expenses will be detailed by IWLH Secretariat within October 24) – Option to be confirmed
